We are your Independent Travel Consultant in the Boston area. At our core we feel that travel, holidays and getaways should be about 2 things; family and discovery, hence the name: Family Discoveries.
We understand that families come in all shapes and sizes! Whether it’s a couple with kids, a group of friends or just you and your dog, we pride ourselves on finding the perfect holiday just for you. They should never be “one size fits all”, they should be personal and unique to you so that you know you’re getting an experience no other person has had! On top of that, we make sure you have none of the stress of worrying about how you’ll get around or airport transfers, its all dealt with for you.
We want to make sure that you get the most out of your holiday and most importantly the most out of your money. That’s why every holiday that we book comes with a personalized brochure for your holiday, giving you information on your hotel and local surroundings. This includes countless activities to do and places to visit, letting you discover the place around you including all the tourist hot spots as well as hidden gems.
At Family Discoveries, we pride ourselves of inclusivity. Holidays are for everyone. This is partly why our holidays are tailor made, because it means that any unique requirements you may have, such as making sure the hotel is disability friendly or if the country needs to safe for LGBTQIA+, we can make sure it’s covered so that your holiday perfect for you.

With SFI and SAFI we can provide peace of mind for things most other travel agencies can’t. These protections help cover any costs accrued in the unlikely case that any supplier or airlines go out of business.

Sustainable Travel
We understand how damaging travel can be on the Economics, Environment & Culture of the area you visit at both a local level and a wider level. We make sure to work with local travel guides and sustainable hotels wherever possible to ensure we don’t contribute towards this. We also provide you with loads of Hits & Tips on how you can travel more sustainably and leave a positive impact on the places you visit, rather than a negative one! Inclusive Travel
We believe that travel should be for everybody, and nobody should have to miss out on discovering the world just because they have a disability, or are a member of the LGBTQIA+ Community, or don’t have the disposable income for long, expensive holidays. We cater to everyone’s needs and want to make sure they can have their dream holiday. We do extensive research to know which hotels have disability access, which cities are LGBT friendly and what holidays have people on a budget in mind. We will always be happy to discuss any inclusivity queries or concerns you may have so we can give you the best holiday possible! We are always looking to improve, so if there are any inclusivity options you need just let us know! We want to be the best we can.
Our Top Tips for more Sustainable Travel
Eat Local! Where possible, eat out at local bars and restaurants instead of eating at the hotel. This not only helps you feed into the local economy, but allows you to experience much more authentic cuisine!
For any pre-holiday essentials, try to buy second hand. Online shops like eBay and Vinted can be great for finding a bargain, or look round your local charity shops! Why not borrow from friends and family too to help cut down on waste?
Waste disposal systems aren’t always as good elsewhere in the World as they are in the UK, so keep hold of your litter until you are back at your hotel, or you find a proper place to dispose of it.
Instead of hiring a car, why not walk or take local public transport! Not only do you cut down on emissions, but you are able to sample the country and a slower pace and experience things you would’ve otherwise missed!
Make sure you use water & power conservatively in your hotel. If you’re not using it, switch it off!
Pay what it’s worth. When shopping around local markets and vendors, don’t haggle the prices too much. Of course you don’t want to massively overpay, but make sure you are still paying what the item is worth. Remember, this is how they make their living.
Make sure not to touch or bother any of the local wildlife. Most places have a very delicate ecosystem and it is important to leave things how you find them. It’s also important to research any animal experience you may want to do to make sure they’re ethical. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out! If you reach the end of your trip and you have some local currency left over, why not donate it? While it may not feel like a lot to you, it could really make the difference to a local charity, foodbank or homeless shelter.
